A couple of my favorite children's books

There are several children's books that I love, but Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss and I Love You, Good Night by Jon Buller and Susan Schade are just phoenomenal! My sons love these books.  Dr. Seuss's book is a fun one to read because you can be dramatic with the animal sounds and so forth.  The children also learn animal sounds and rhyming.   I used to read the book by Buller and Schade when my first son was in the womb so that he would learn the sound of my voice.  This book is short and sweet.  After a while we all remembered the book verbatim which makes it all the more sweet and memorable.  My son is three and he still loves that book as well as my 11 1/2 month old.

Cheryl,

I enjoy all the books you listed as well. I recently went to a baby shower and each person was to bring a book to start the baby’s library. I gave I Love You, Good Night along with some others. I had a hard time choosing just one. Like you, I love reading books and making them come alive. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the children’s facial expression as I am reading. My boys are too old for me to read to them so I get my fill at work when the teachers will allow me to come in their rooms. I am guilty of getting the children excited and then leaving.

I find it hilarious that you get the children excited and leave their newfound hyperness for their teachers to deal with! Children grow up very fast so I am embracing every moment. My 12 year old likes to listen to me read Green Eggs and Ham ocassionally!
